Can you switch my power on a specific date?

The exact timing is subject to your transmission & distribution service provider (TDSP), which controls your meter. Depending on your meter type, you’ll be switched to MP2 anytime between 24 hours before, to 48 hours after the date you requested. Please note that switches transact only on business days. Move-ins and switches can only be requested by the applicant or the applicant’s authorized agent.

I'm not good with computers. Can I still sign up with MP2?

Please contact us at MP2 if you need additional help filling out your retail electricity supply agreement. Check your e-mail after the conversation concludes for confirmation of your enrollment.

Where and how can I pull electricity usage history?

Follow these six easy steps if you’re interested in obtaining electricity usage history at the 15-minute level:

  1. Create an account on the Smart Meter Texas website
    Tip: you’ll need an ESI-ID and meter number from a recent electricity bill
  2. You’ll receive an e-mail containing final instructions to complete your registration
  3. Log into the SMT portal and you will land on the Usage page
  4. Look for the ‘Report Option’ section in the middle of this page. Enter the following in the fields:
    • Report type - “Daily Usage (15 min intervals)”
    • Start Date – Change year to one year ago (e.g., 10/1/2014)
    • End Date – Confirm date is a few days ago (e.g., 10/2/2015)
      Tip: we want to get 1 year worth of data
  5. Click ‘Update Report’ over to the right.
  6. 6. In 15 minutes to 24 hours, you’ll receive an e-mail with a usage file that begins with “IntervalMeterUsage….” To view this data, save it as a .csv file and open with Microsoft Excel
    Tip: Residential customers can use this data to help them estimate their historical annual usage for the solar calculator tool
    Tip: Solar installers can use this data to help customers complete their MP2 solar program applications, among numerous other functions
