Eric Miller

As MP2 Energy’s CFO, Eric brings almost 10 years of power experience in positions of increasing responsibility in commercial risk management, finance, accounting, and financial planning.  This diverse experience allows Eric to “speak commercially” to the financial community and affords him the ability to quickly assess risks across the organization.

Eric spent the last 9 years at Reliant Energy, Inc.  Most recently, Eric led the long-term trading desk for Reliant’s ERCOT Retail business.  In addition to managing the day-to-day ERCOT Retail term book, Eric was also influential in new product development, commercial and industrial origination activities and supply portfolio development strategies.  Eric and his team were responsible for all aspects of the Retail hedge including, but not limited to, gas, heat rate, ancillary services and renewable energy credits.  Eric spent 2 years managing Reliant’s liquidity and collateral management activities.  During this time Eric led the reduction of $1.8 billion of collateral and helped structure and support the development of a collateral friendly credit structure with Merrill Lynch that further reduced potential collateral obligations by ~ $2 billion.   At several points during his time at Reliant, Eric led the financial due diligence activities in support of corporate refinancings, rating agency reviews and investors queries.

Prior to Reliant, Eric spent 2 years in Arthur Andersen’s Houston audit practice.  Eric is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a MS in Finance and a BBA in Accounting and is a CPA.
