Brandon Schwertner
Prior to his role as CEO of MP2 Energy, Brandon was the Director of Energy Trading & Marketing at Credit Suisse. During his time at Credit Suisse, he resided over the firm’s energy trading group in Houston. His primary skills are trading and origination of both gas and power within the southern US. Having gained experience from previous work with Calpine, RWE Trading Americas, Mpower Energy Services and NYMEX, Brandon was successful in creating a large client services business at Credit Suisse. In 2008, he was awarded a “Top 10 2008 Energy Deal of the Year” by Energy Risk Magazine for the long-term sale of energy to Baylor University directly from his own bank financed wind project.
A rare breed of market participant understanding the elements of generation, retail, trading and investment banking, Brandon offers a multi-faceted approach to problem solving. Some of his recent accomplishments have surrounded the ideas of financially engineering both financial load and generation commonly sought by non-utility affiliated REPS or pure merchant generators. His drive is to originate solutions that flatten the energy curve and bypass traditional marketing channels thus eliminating unwarranted premiums.
